Mandy Johnson was born in 1967 and completed a journalism degree at the University of Queensland before roving the world for three years as a tour leader/independent traveller. On her return to Australia she joined Flight Centre Limited. By the age of 28 she was the company's youngest-ever director, of the UK operation. She now lives in Brisbane, Queensland, with her husband and two children and writes full-time.
