Sport

There are now so many marathons in almost every country and territory of the world that the sheer variety on offer dazzles the imagination. Running has proved something of a recession-proof industry, and even at a time of economic downturn ever more races are being staged all over the world. This book is a guide to 50 of the best marathons in the world – including New Zealand’s own Auckland Marathon – to race in, complete with stunning photography and practical details on when and how to enter, when it takes place, and training tips. Each marathon is rated for difficulty, includes expert analysis of the course and all of the necessary considerations for taking part.
