Fast-paced inventive writing, complex, original plots, guaranteed to satisfy the hunger of voracious readers everywhere. A six-book series, published at six-monthly intervals - a series that will leave readers desperate to know what happens next. Strange creatures, weird science, but above all a deep vein of humanity runs through these books - inspired by the author's experience of dealing with war, the law, and human rights. Like Michelle Paver, Myers has a fascinating personal background (he is also a lawyer), which very much informs his writing. A discovery from the Orion slush-pile (we are one of the few children's lists to look at unsolicited mss) - the first new novel we have acquired since Graham Gardner's INVENTING ELLIOTT, published in 2002. A definite candidate for author profiles, events and a certain contender for literary prizes.
