Stresshead

Author(s): Allayne Webster

Teen (Ages 15+)

I’m toast. I’m burnt toast. I’m the charcoal you scrape off the toast with your knife. OMG. Year Eleven results are out today, my boyfriend is MIA and my mum is acting totally weird. I’d turn to my BF Kat, but her life has suddenly gone from hero to zero. I don’t know who to talk to and everyone’s got their own problems. Would life be better if I wasn’t such a stresshead? A wry, first-hand account of trying to cope with the almost overwhelming burden of being sixteen. • Laugh-out-loud funny • A true cross-over title that will appeal to anyone who has ever tried to live up to the expectations of others

Product Information

Allayne was born in Adelaide but grew up in the coastal cray-fishing town of Kingston, South Australia. The eldest of five children, Allayne developed a love of reading and writing very early on, but initially thought she would grow up to be either an artist or a musician. During high school, Allayne wrote poetry and stories, and even attempted writing a novel. It wasn’t until after the birth of her son Dillon in 2000 that Allayne decided to return to her first love of writing. The result was her first young adult novel, Our Little Secret.
